Gideons

How funny. When the Gideons came to our school, we confiscated their Bibles and kicked them off our property. We then told our kids: You NEVER, EVER take anything from a stranger! It completely roasts me that adults would| accost a child whom they don't know and try to hand them something. Next, (and most importantly) we told them that NO ONE EXCEPT YOUR PARENTS TEACHES YOU YOUR RELIGION! NO ONE! Especially not some nut on a sidewalk. The parents at our school were absolutely furious that the Gideons would try to yes, SHOVE their religion down the throats of children. They were up in arms and calling | |
the admin. building, demanding to know if the district was sanctioning this. I don't think we'll be seeing any more Gideons around our school. And any teacher or adminstrator who would contact them to come to a public school should lose their job!And let's just ignore the Jewish families, shall we? And the Muslim families, too. Why should those kids be offered a Bible, for the love of Mike?!
