In the town I live in, it all depends if you want to teach preschool or elementary school. If you want to teach preschool you would have to go with a school that is non-accrediated. For elementary schools you would only be allowed to be an assistant. You could think about it this way...You could go ahead get your associate degree, then start working as an assitant. This way you know if you will enjoy the job, and can work toward your bachelors degree. It may take you long but it would be worth it, because you will know it is what you want.
