I have call-display and I will only pick up the phone if I recognize the caller or if I don't care who is calling because I'm not doing anything.

It's difficult when something goes home right before a holiday. The parent should have waited at least until after Christmas day to call you but she didn't.

What I would do when you get back to school is have your school secretary call the parent and let her know that you are available to meet with her about her child's progress at these times - she can book a time or decide she doesn't need to see you but that will give her the message that there is a procedure to seeing you and phoning you at home is not it.
