lunch
By gina

Clip to ScrapBook
At the school where I teach, the Kindergarten teacher often asks if I have any responsible 6/7 graders who would eat lunch with her and her class. That way, the older kids are the ones doing the menial jobs like opening milk cartons, etc., and she deals with the really tough stuff and gets a bit of time to eat her own lunch. Since the 6/7's are not left alone with the class, there is little possibility of danger or problems. Plus, I talk it up with my own class, so the 6/7's treat it as a special honor, and it helps to establish and perpetuate a "kinder" atmosphere between the younger and older students. If this would be acceptable at your school, I urge you to try it.
