Word Walls and Sorts

Am interested in your word study notebooks. Can you explain? I used to teach 3rd grade and had a word wall from a Phonics book (I think it was 4 Blocks..not sure) and found it to be helpful. Now I teach 6th and feel they need this basic academic vocabulary too. Would like to use a word wall and do word work like I did in 3rd. Perhaps you have some ideas. Sounds like you are pretty forward thinking.
