stress and parents By lisa

That is a very difficult question because I think that most of us stress out about the same stuff. Over the years I have developed a thicker skin but I can still be shook up by a parent.Try to tell yourself that you do | the best that you can do to educate your students - it is not your job to placate every parent - it is not possible to make everyone happy because some revel in anger and critizism (sp?). YOu have to make a real effort to not think about it at home - you work to support your family - not to be on call for the parents of your students. Do not let them control you even when you are at home. | | Try to relax over Christmas break and totally turn off the school stuff running through your head - it is possible! Tell yourself that you are good at what you do and that no one is perfect (nor are the parents of your students perfect either). When you teach from the heart, unfortunately your heart can be hurt. You have the right to protect yourself as much as possible.
