i don't think i read shelli's vent, but i will say that becoming a parent has made me a better teacher, in many ways. (i have sons in 2nd and kndgtn.)

you see things from a different perspective from "the other side of the fence".

i have way more tolerance for the annoying parent now that i am sometimes the annoying parent! i get it! (okay, sometimes i still don't get it), but that empathy is there.
