I can totally relate By first grade teacher

I am only in my second year of teaching, but I feel the same way. I even went so far as to check our website to see exactly how many teachers at my school had more advanced degrees. I am one out of five who do not or are| not at least pursuing it. Initially my plan was to go for my masters right after getting my bacc. honestly so my parents would pay for it too. They always said they would pay for my schooling. But then my fiancee left me, pregnant, still getting my undergrad. Needless to say my priorities changed. I finished up and got a teaching job just after my daughter turned 1. I've checked | | into local and online programs, and the cost for the entire deal runs about 10K here. If I had that kind of money I'd be buying a home for me and my child. I feel bad enough that my daughter has to spend the amount of time she does in preschool (great school, but I'm not with her, being a single parent leaves me with a ton of guilt), so I just can't see how to do it now. Luckily, no one at my school really asks if you are going or why not. I'm only 25 and know I have time, but honestly my main priority is my 3 year old and maybe when she's older and could better understand my being away or at least give me a little uniterrupted time to get it online, then I'll jump on that wagon. It's still hard not to feel, I don't know, compared to the others, who most, in my case at least, have no where near the home commitments as I do.
