I don't have any experience with the matter of job sharing, but your post interests me because I would like to job share one day when I start a family. So you plan to split the work and teaching 50/50 or do you have other| plans, like perhaps splitting the subjects? Have you introduced this idea to your school board, and if so, how did they handle it? I think job sharing is a great option because I love teaching and do not want to leave it, but at the same time, I am often at the school well after 5 p.m. and I arrive at least an hour before school starts. I would like to share the planning with someone, | | for sure! That's what I find most tedious and time-consuming (don't get me wrong, I enjoy the creativity and independence of it). I would like to think that job-sharing could be an option for me one day so I could be home with my children after school. Anyhow, I suppose my main concerns would be consistent classroom management and dealing with the unexpected. For example, if the school play practice always falls during math, will the other teacher be flexible enough to allow them to make up some missed work during other classes? Situations like that. If you find out any more, Donna, post if you have a chance, please.
