We have seven first grade classes at my school and each class have between 23 - 25 students. I have twenty-three but have been told I will get a new one when we return from Winter Break. Our classrooms were built for 15 students (max). Needless to say, it gets pretty crowded in there. I do whole group activities and small group reading groups. I try to see each of my five groups every day, butu sometimes I have to skim over things with my highest group due to time. I wish we had fewer children, but that isn't going to happen in my district!
