of course i'll be in! ( i was in for over 3 hours today) and it was HEAVEN--no phone calls to make, no urgent emails, last minute copies, children getting in trouble, asking questions, needing help, no requests from the| nurse or secretary, no friends around to distract me--ha ha, that's probably the biggest! one major reason i wouldn't want to teach at a year-round school (there are a couple schools where this is an option for one class at each grade level) is i would use those short breaks to work! i have 3 large tubs full of stuff that needs to be filed/put away--some things i own that have never | | been put away, some leftover from last year, mostly stuff i've used this year, but tossed in a pile because i was too lazy to put away--now that all has to be done.i also had to take down the display case and 4 bulletin boards (and create 3 new bulletin boards). and...next week (we have 2 weeks winter break), the district will shut the heat off so they can fix something, so any work i'll do at school will have to be this week. i have TONS of grading, and, of course, planning to do, but that will be done at home. i figured if i worked for just one hour each day, it would be manageable--so far i'm off 3 hours! (i haven't given up on working tonight, yet...) my teaching partner and i are somewhat compulsive about working, so we always wish each other--hope you get lots of work done over break! because we know we'll be frantic during the school week if we don't work a lot during weekends/breaks--it's a trade-off!! hope you all get sufficient rest and work during your break!
