subbing 14 years

Charilla, I am trying to make a tough decision. Do I apply for a teaching certification? (NJ has an alternate route program as well as a traditional program). You seem to have made a career of subbing. Do you hold more than a county substitute certificate, i.e. do you hold a teaching cert.? Why do you sub rather than take a regular teaching position? Are the pay and benefits the same?
