retention

Clip to ScrapBook
You are right on with telling them now and then seeing if any lights go on from now until the end of school. I am a HUGE fan of holding kids back if they are not ready. I have NEVER had or heard a parent say that they did
the wrong thing by holding their child back BUT I have heard many say oh how they wish they would have. Myself for one. I did not start one of my boys until the next year and he has done beautifully, however, my oldest I sent on and now I sure think another year would have been fantastic for him. I also believe that nothing really shows up until middle school(6th-8th grades) and then it
is really too late to retain.
It sounds like we are all saying the same thing and I am glad there are teachers out there doing this to give these kids more time to develope!!
