Agree to disagree

Spanking is not allowed in my state either. Therefore I have never thought of it. Do I spank my own children - once in awhile when needed. I do agree dancing in line is inappropriate and will put me at my wits end too!
I have a student that does that. However, it is in my opinion that some of the teachers that I have seen that have the worst classroom management think everything is okay and children just need to have fun! They say things like "dancing in line is okay" or "school should be more about learn through play." See if kids are supposed to be playing than there's no need for classroom management.

However, we can't always play can we? If this is true I am missing something in the adult world because I do not have everyday play I have some light-hearted moments but my day is not all play! I think sometimes we just need to agree to disagree. There are some that will push their opinions into the ground because they can't handle this aspect of it. So do not worry about what others are saying. Feel guilty because we all do after we make these decisions. We wouldn't be human if we didn't. I know many days I have gone home wondering if I was just too mean that day. I vow to do better and then the same kid does something that puts me to my wits end. It happens to all of us! Yes it affects us because we are human with feelings. Yes we did the right thing for the moment. We have kids we are responsible for and we do make spare of the moment decisions. I'm not for or against spanking. Sometimes I use it as a last resort for my own kids. Yes I feel guilty. No I did not scar them for life. No they do not fear me. They are very loving little ones who love each other very much. At school my child said the best thing about Christmas was the love we all had for each other! Far from violent, and all the other kids were talking about the toys!
