what I do

I left teaching because I couldn't find a job in the area where I moved this summer (after getting married). I am working at a social services agency that works with teens now. I was hired to establish a new program that my agency received a grant for. They hired me because I have teaching experience because I was responsible for developing a life skills curriculum for this program (life skills classes for recently paroled teens). It's a 9-5 job - a lot less take-home stress - and I still get to do teacher things like establish individualized plans for each teen, teaching the life skills, acting as a positive adult influence - plus, my clients know that if they are bad, they will go back to jail... that takes care of a lot of discipline problems!!! =)
