Clip to ScrapBook
Who said that you were being negative? The parents or the principal? Did you write anything down (re: instructions) when you were creating the daily contract at the meeting? If you did, you could refer back to that "In
this contract, we agreed that I would report all aspects of behavior, regardless of whether they were positive or negative."
If not, you should probably arrange for another meeting and state that you may not have been clear in the past. You would like to be able to tell them the negative as well as the positive, so they could be involved in all aspects of their daughter's educational
environment. State that normally you inform parents of both.
If I were you, I would just bring the records of her behavior - positive and negative - to the pt conferences. They have to hear both sides or they will not understand at the end of the year when their child is not mature enough to get to the next grade. Make sure you make it clear that these are your concerns and you need them to know so they can work with you to correct negative behavior and reinforce positive behavior. Also, make sure they understand that you have a responsibility to inform them of their daughter's negative behavior as well as her positive.
