let it go

Clip to ScrapBook
You really do have to let it go. As long as your principal is in the loop and is supportive, stick to your guns. If you don't, the rest of your year will be hell.

I've had the same problem with some of my kids' parents,
and I've had to say, "Sorry, the directions were clear and printed on the assignment. I won't accept work that doesn't follow the directions." The low letter grade on the report card hasn't motivated them either. For some reason, parents think they can call with excuses and I'll magically change the rules for their child. Unbelievable, isn't it? I'm sorry to say this, but you better get
used to this type of behavior from parents.

What have his teachers from previous years said? For the next parent conference, have everything documented and request your principal sit in.
