Been There too

Clip to ScrapBook
I'm sorry you're principal is a witch on a power trip. It's sounds as though she has a personality conflict with you, clearly on her part. She's is going to try to make you "fear" for your job and will do her best to demoralize
and intimidate you.

I had the same type of principal once. She (a miserable alcoholic) even threatened to have me put on a "Plan for Improvement" and made up things about my teaching (i.e. - "no classroom control.") The more depressed I became, the more she delighted in my misery. Fortunately, I had great union support and she retired. Now all is well, thank God and I love my new

principal.

Play her game and make those changes. Thank her for her suggestions and continue to be the great teacher you know you are and that SHE knows you are. Pacify the bully and she'll get bored. As I understand correctly, if she is making recommendations and you are following them, she cannot fire you.

I'm glad you talked to an attorney. Yes, you are being harassed. I'm sorry these so-called "professionals" get away with this nonsense. I can't see how she can tell you you're not going to be rehired. She must have documentation. Please see your union rep.

Also, leave work at work. As soon as you leave the parking lot, go home, relax and enjoy yourself. This will pass. Whatever you do, do not let her "run your life." Be happy, do your job, enjoy yourself and remember that she's not worth it.
