Recess
By teach5th

Clip to ScrapBook
You have a huge advantage......RECESS, the students free time. I like to use two techniques. One is to simply add up minutes of recess that they owe me. Everytime they waste my time, a slash goes up and each slash is worth one minute of recess. This starts to work once they are up to 5 minutes or so. The other technique I used while I was subbing was to write the work RECESS on the board and everytime the class would act inappropriately they would lose a letter. This also worked well. Don't let them walk all over you. Good Luck!
