gingerbread houses
By Anne

Clip to ScrapBook
It's probably too late for you now, but maybe you can use this next year.
I ask each child to bring a small (250 ml) milk carton to school, along with about "a cup" of any kind of candy decorations they think would look great. The parents always send more, and a good variety. The kids always share, trade and exchange decorations. I don't make the icing. I ask the manager of the local grocery store (which has a bakery) to donate royal icing and he always does! I purchase the graham waffers they kids first "ice" onto the milk cartons for the gingerbread look. Then they add all the candies. I get older students to help with the project and we get wonderful, creative results.
