Clip to ScrapBook
Aloha Connie, I have Kindergarten through 2nd grade in one class. We are multi-age obviously, can you imagine the different reading ability levels to say the least. We about a month ago introduced sounds of the alphabets through sign language. It is done every morning before we begin our literacy workshop. The first week or so we would do it as a transition, to calm them after coming in from outside play, anytime or any where. The response is amazing and every child participates with enthusiasm. Seeing our young ones turning to their sign language to help them with remembering the sound of a letter is a reward. Try it out and good luck.
