My experiences

Clip to ScrapBook
Colleges and states need to improve their requirements for certification. I agree. We have people certified that cannot perform to their certification.

When I worked for a tutoring center, I had one teacher who was certified to teach all subjects through 8th grade. She could not convert decimals to percents, and was uneasy with long division and fractions! She could have taken a job teaching 8th grade math when her skill level wasn't above third grade! How did she ever obtain certification????
