I worked sped/resource last year as an aide while getting my mastyer's in sped. I also decided to get certified in elem ed since it made sense. Turns out I am now teaching 1st grade at the same school. What I am doing goes
with my philosophy of early intervention. My personal opinion is that every K-3 teacher (at least) should be certified in sped. What do we do except deal with a huge span of abilities, no diagnosis of LDs yet for the most part. I differentiate lessons constantly. Most importantly, I let my students know that everyone is different and we are all better for it. I hope my attitude will allow

the strugglers to continue to love school.

The biggest difference is being isolated within my classroom with the same kids all day! LOL! I miss going to different classrooms and seeing different adults. It's just different. But I like what I do!
