Bonus Points
By Alex McMurray

Clip to ScrapBook
I am saving up Bonus Points from Scholastic to get my first home computer system. Scholastic wouldn't offer these high-end items, such as computers, DVD players, video cameras, etc, if they weren't interested in someone using
their points to actually get them! I figure, look at how much more effective I will be able to do my job in the comfort of my own home on this new computer. Furthermore, it's not as if I have a staff at my "high-paying job" to organize grades and lesson plans. With a computer - my first computer ever, by the way - I will be able to become much more efficient in filing grades, report
cards, and about a million other teacher-related jobs. If I mix in Internet reserach, e-mailing family and friends at the same time, so be it. I won't feel guilty.

Besides, I am not exactly hawking Scholastic's books and software for free, you know. If they didn't want us to use these Bonus Points to get ourselves material and equipment to help ourselves, then they can send their own representatives to our school and sell their books.
