This is ONLY one of many topics of controversy at the boards over the years. Just remember everyone has an opionion and have tried-and-true ideas. One thing may work for one person and something else work for another.
We hear about different programs through our school, go to training and conferences and we are "sure" this program is for us. If it is, then great! Someone else has gone to a different program, training, and conferences and they are "sure" that is for them, then great! If you are not hurting a child (which in my opinion taking recess away isn't, as it never hurt me, my hubby, or our

two boys who are doing very well in all aspects of life!!)then you should implement it. YOU are the one that is with your kids day after day and YOU see what works! This board is for giving you options to try, not to berate you because you do it one way, and someone else says you are wrong, you should do it my way. That person is not with your kids. Every classroom is different, kids from different areas have different needs. One year one thing might work while the next year I have to explore more options.
