don't leave the laws to the administrators. I have a new principal who knows nothing about special ed...and she's almost gotten us into big trouble a couple of times. Because of this I took a special ed law class last summer...it was a 1 credit class so it wasn't a lot of effort but I did learn a lot and I do worry about my principal. My director of special ed isn't exactly up on everything either so my advice is while you needn't loose sleep over this right now do go on and get a sped law class next summer...and read up on the laws when you can...it's better to be smart than look really stupid when you say well gee I didn't know that law.
