You should not have to call your own sub, if you're sick then you should be able to take that day to yourself. Are they going to pay you more for the time you had to go in and do work on a day when you were being paid as sick? Do you have a union rep? I would definitely look into it if you do.

In regards to subs, I agree that there are days that you can't work, but come on now, every time you get a call, you say no. That's not right. If I were in charge, I would definitely start calling the subs who do come in and leave the others who don't for last. It's not meant as an insult, but these schools are counting on you to show up sometimes.
