craft sticks for addition

Instead of cubes or base ten blocks, I use craft sticks. I have bags with 10 sets of 10 sticks wrapped in rubber bands. This way we can actually regroup. It seems to help. The sticks can be bought in boxes of a thousand for just a couple of dollars.
