My students always respond when I feed them..try to make up cute writing activities using candy or chocolate (if you are able to in your school). I used one with a hershey kiss...having the students look at it and describe what they see...then have then unwrap it and use more details to describe its texture. Then have them put it in their mouth and write words to describe what it tastes like. It a good place to start.
