might work
By KT

Clip to ScrapBook
I have tried something similar -- it's differentiated instruction. I divided mine into groups based on how fast they were learning the material. It's a great idea in theory. Some problems I had was that it is really difficult
to create so many different lesson plans for each group. You have to plan the assignments and assessments for each of your three groups everyday, so sometimes it feels like triple work. Also, even the "fast learners" tend to get off-task (they are teenagers) if left to do too much independently. I did it for about a month and I was so tired from running from group to group trying
to keep everyone on task, that I had to switch back to my old way.

Sorry to be such a downer on your idea. You might do just fine at it, but it was hard on me. Now, I do divide them into groups for certain lessons, and let the fast learners work independently, but I only do it on occasion instead of as an everyday thing. You just have to try it and see if it works for you.

Hope this helps.
