first observation
By Erin

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi,

I am also a first year teacher (in 4th grade) and have already been observed twice. My advice is to stick with what you are comfortable with and plan a lesson you would have taught anyway. Once you have the framework
thought out, ask some other teachers to look it over. I didn't do this the first time, but did the second, and I think it made a huge difference. The other teachers were familiar with what our principal looks for and are experienced teachers who had lots of great ideas. They were able to make some suggestions that really improved the lesson.

If you want specifics, let me know.

Otherwise, my best advice is to relax (easier said than done) and pretend your administrator isn't there and treat it like any other lesson!

Hope that helps!
Erin
