Stacia: I didn't expect you to list everything that you do, maybe some examples would enlighten many of us as to what you do as opposed to missing recess. A couple of us just asked that you share with us since that is what| the boards here are for. A "for example, I do this...." would have been helpful. I never have had a horrible year with discipline and I have taught for 16 years. I am always complimented on how well my students behave. That is because we establish things right off the bat, getting student input and work it out together! Also, I do think I mentioned that many of my students don't | | have to sit out so it IS working! And I also stated that the punishment most definitely fits the "crime" if they are playing during worktime, then they sit out at recess because they already had their playtime and no one else did. If you would like to share what you do on that matter, I would love to hear about it.To Kerry: It is my opinion that disagreeing is not argumentative. There is nothing wrong with that. I have gone back and reread all the posts. I find that in your first postyou were addressing me personally. When I addressed issued that you brought up and stated the things that I do, you call that argumentative. I used the wrong wording about "backing up" what you were stating, but I didn't mean it in a bad way. I was having a hard time finding the info that you posted and asked for direction. I even said that I did find things on the website beneficial and thanks. Your next post said "I" was argumentative. Ok, whatever. I usually say "your welcome" when someone says thanks. Oh well. Have a good night.
