I know exactly how you feel. Please do not let these trouble-making, good-for-nothing parents discourage you. You are a far better person than anyone of them could ever hope to aspire to become. The poster below is exactly | right: principals need to start getting some backbone and these parents have no right to contact you while you are on medical leave. This is your time to take care of yourself. It never fails: each year there is always that one parent or that one group who has to make life hell for us. You know what they need? A life. And a job. I've had a parent barge in on me demanding I accept | | her 6th grader son's book report...on (are you ready for this?) BUNNICULA. My report guidelines and expectations were made very clear and she knew this as well as the expectations of our English department. In addition, she is now trying to cause me problems because he did not have his third book report on Monday..."BUT he had it Wednesday (two days late) and should be allowed to turn it in. As a mom, I never RUSH him." Ironically, he's not slow, just lazy. Apparently, the world revolves around him. He had the audacity to say to me, "I'm not learning anything new in your class. If you have new material, I'd like to see it." This? From Mr. Bunnicula? You have to take these power hungry people with a "grain of salt." I know it's easy to say but you must try. Please remember that you're only stuck with their brat(s) for the school year. They have them for life. Now that's a "life sentence." LOL! Hang in there! Never, ever let them get the best of you and never give up!
