This sounds just like my former administrator. You see, he refused to handle referrals. All discipline was to be taken care of by the teacher in the classroom. He would scream at us, "Do your job! Work!" Rather ironic choice
of words on his part.
Most administrators are very lazy. Even worse, they are petrified of parents. They cater to them, "yes" them to death, and fail to support their school staff. This former administrator of mine used to spend his days playing computer poker...all day - while my tax dollars supported his lazy (you know what).
Trust me, it's not you. It has nothing to do with you.

If you love teaching, hang in there until you get tenure. Now that I have tenure, if a child in my class were bruised and administration refused to handle it, I would have filed a police report.

You may also want to speak to your union representative about this. They may be able to help you and give you suggestions and no one needs to know.

I'm sorry you work with such "catty" idiots. They're probably the Assistant Principal's best friends! They sound very insecure - same as her. I mean, she's concerned about your grammar in an emergency? If she ever needs CRP, tell her you have to run to the store first to buy mouthwash before you will even consider saving her (the witch's) life.
