FUN GAME w/multiplying dec.
By chris

Clip to ScrapBook
Use stickers to cover a die with 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 50% & 75% These %s will represent savings on store items.

Cut out a bunch of items and their prices from the Sunday newspaper sales flyers (Walmart flyers are good bc. you get more interesting numbers for the cents part of the decimal $17.78 vs. most flyers that end in $0.99)and paste them onto index cards.

Kids take turns rolling the die and choosing a card. (ie. kid rolls 15% off and gets a Spiderman II DVD for $14.87 so they multiply 14.87 x .15 and determine their savings. On a simple spreadsheet, kids keep track of item cost, $ saved, and final cost of item. Kid at the end who saved the most money wins.
