K behavior
By Di

Clip to ScrapBook
Try setting them up for success. Try this - tell the children exactly the behavior you are going to be looking for and expecting for the next few minutes, such as "I am going to be watching you and I expect you to sit with your hands in your lap while I ..." I have found that when I give the expectation up front, explicitly, and very often, that behavior is much better. Of course, start out with a short time frame, as little as three to five minutes, so that they can feel that success. Also, make sure that the children have an idea of how long they are expected to sit quietly and what activity will follow. Good luck!
