Movement
By Rachel

Clip to ScrapBook
Do you incorporate movement? Any time they sit for a long time, I will have them stand up, shake their arms, legs, heads, fingers, hug their friend, talk to their neighbor, and sit back down. They need alot of movement, as well as opportunities to talk. When we read a story, I'll ask a question and tell them to tell their neighbor. Then I ask a child what their neighbor said. Every child feels like they got to express themselves, as well as using cooperative skills. You can also tell immediately those that were not listening, because they will just sit there and stare at you.
