I am in an evening and weekend program now. I will take an over $15,000 pay cut myself, when I start teaching, if I can find a job. One thing that may offset the pay cut though, is that teachers in my state - Wisconsin - have excellent benefits. In my current job I pay a huge amount for benefits. As a teacher I will only have to pay a small percentage of what I pay now.
