I took a permanent sub job in a district because the principal told me during the interview it was a good way to get my foot in the door. Then two teachers went out on leave and they hired from outside of the school. They knew that it would harder to find someone to take my crappy job as a perm. sub so they passed me over. If you can talk to the other teachers ask if they know of anyone who was a TA that has been hired for a teaching position. If the answer is no keep looking.
