My charts change as my unit of study changes and as we add on to them. First there is the word wall with no excuse words that is added to through out the year. Editing Chart Good Writers Check Their Writing
For: *Puntuation (! . ?) * Capital Letters - Start of a sentence - Names * Spelling -Word Wall -Have-A- Go -Words I use when I write Revision Chart (with graphics) * Make an arrow * Add on the end * Use a carrot * Make a code (*, smile, sun, etc..)
Good Writers *Write from their head and heart *Leave Traces of their thinking *Write | | about what they know about *Write things that make senseMy final chart is about whatever our writing unit is and I add on after each mini lesson. For example we are currently writting ABC concept books (based on Jerry Pallotta) and here are some examples on our chart: ABC Concept Books *The letters are in order *One letter is on each page *The letter is upper case and lower case * The page starts out ___ is for _______. *There is one topic on each page *There is a paragraph about the topic *The drawings support the topic *The drawings are realistic Steps To Follow Chart (with actual paper glued on to the chart that needs to be filled out) 1. Choose a topic 2. Write on lined paper what you know 3. Write on tan paper of what you need to find out 4. Fill out pink brainstorm sheet 5. Get blue sheet to start your book My charts are not fancy they are on chart paper with graphics if it
