What to do...
By Jaime

Clip to ScrapBook
As a second grade teacher I do not have much to share with you becuase I think the kids are at a different point when they are in your grade level. I just want to say that I think it is great that you are doing your "homework"
about how to help this student and looking for support. I see this board as a place for help not negativity like a previous poster. My suggestion would have been to read Winebrenner but you already have. There are many educational journals written about gifted children, perhaps some articles in there will help! I use challange folders for all of my children. Children have challange
work in their folder that is appropriate for them. This leaves children feeling like they are on a more level playing field. (at least in second greade) I have always been lucky enough to have a "cluster" of children who are above grade level in math. It seems to help if they have a peer group.

Good luck!
