Read and Write the Room
I have an specific stationary area for all centers except Seat Centers (these are portable that they take to their own seat). Leap Track is taken to their seat also. You can have centers in a tub (like my word center). They pull this out at center time. You can have a small rug or table cloth to lay down as that area. You can have a lower cabinet that houses things for a center and at center time, just open the cabinet and they pull out the things there onto the floor and use it there. Also, you can use filing cabinets for things that are magnetic (like letters, words, etc.) Use rubber stamps for them to stamp out spelling words. Soon, I am going to add a center (I NEED A GOOD NAME FOR IT!!) that will be practical reading (reading a recipe, phone book, etc.) What could I call it? I hope this has helped some!
