In the past, the class mother has collected $1 or $2 per student and bought a cute gift. It's really great if you have a ST leaving in Dec. because an ornament or desk calendar is always good. I don't think it's necessary to buy a gift, especially for the teacher to be dishing out the money. Parents are usually willing to give a dollar or two. It's worth it.
