something that needs to be said here...
By Augustus

Clip to ScrapBook
is that, to a large degree, how rowdy a bunch of middle schoolers are is very dependent on how they are allowed to behave by their real teacher. I go into rooms where I know the teacher is absolutely strict. The kids behave,
because they don't want me to leave their name for him to read the next day. Heck, when I am in the room next door I threaten them by asking, "Do you need to go through that door and discuss your lack of attention in here with Mr. Jones"? Oh, heck no! But then there are the situations where I am walking down the hall and passing a room that has been nothing but trouble for all the subs.
Well, guess what? The real teacher is in there and the inmates are still in charge of the asylum.
I am going into a new middle school tomorrow. They have been calling so I think I will try it out. It is a school that is in a very poor area (one of the poorest in the entire state), but I have heard that they have good discipline. And don't let anyone kid you, that has to come from the top down. If the principal don't have yo' back, then get on outa there!
