WHen I student taught, my cooperating teacher glued each child's picture to a piece of paper. Underneath it she had typed "What I liked best about Miss F..." and "My words of advice for Miss F..." and then they wrote their answer and signed their name. She put it together in a book and it was so cute! As far as a gift goes, why don't you just get her a candle? It's easy and inexpensive. Sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience with her!
