Too much...
By AKA

Clip to ScrapBook

"I also do not want to spemd a lot of money on her because she was not the greatest and very often gave me grief"

I would challenge you to start a philosophy that I began this year. You do not give gifts based on performance
or "liking someone". You give gifts to show appreciation, etc. Your character could be jeopardized by being too critical and holding some sort of grudge against her. Though it may be your job to evaluate her, her college should know more about what they expected from her. Since she isn't even going into teaching, what's the big deal.

My feelings were EXTREMELY hurt last year

when I gave my partners $30 each to Target for the end of the year. They gave me nothing. It took me a long time to realize that I truly did not give them gifts to get anything, but to show them how much I appreciated them.

How about a nice gift certificate to a local restaurant or a basket of basic teaching supplies like a planner, pencils, post-its, etc. Think long and hard...I am sure this girl did some nice things in your room and helped you out a lot. Don't be so critical.
