"3 second rule"
By Kathy

Clip to ScrapBook
I have implemented the "say thank you in three seconds or lose it rule" and I'll have to say my class is much more polite and appreciative (in everything) this year. It's a breath of fresh air! (I had to pull things at the first of the year and felt like a real ogre--but hey you usually don't have to do it to the same child twice and it's been weeks since I took back a treat!!

I had a similar experience to the original post last year when I played an exchange game with my Christmas gifts and thought, "Never again!"

I do have a question about the Essential 55: I've tried to implement the "Thank your driver" rule, but it's hard to enforce because the field trip is over. Any ideas on that one??????
