Long time sub here with 4 years experience spread out over many years. Im in my "first" year of grade one. I live with fear, anxiety and exhaustion but a lot of that is self-imposed. I am at a wonderful school with wonderful staff.
Does it get easier? Yes, I think it will when I go to my second year. Well, I hope I get too. I think one becomes more confident in the curriculum, dealing with parents, all the extra stuff. I think it remains difficult for even superior teachers because we care so much about our students. I have vowed never to become complacent or lazy. When I do that is the day I will quit. Do I love it? Yes! I am also happy. GIve it time.
