nap time

i work in new york, and as far as my school goes, we do not "officially" mandate nap time, but the old-timer k. teachers told us that we should let them rest for about 1/2 hr a day after lunch. we were told that it used to be mandated, but i never saw this in writing.i have a problem parent who is a pain in the butt who had a problem with this too. i told her that the first week that we had rest time, her daughter was one of the children who was really sleepy. the parent never complained after that - at least about rest time. anyway, sorry but i haven't seen anything in writing! barbara
