Homework comments

Clip to ScrapBook
I have been so confused this year. Some parents say I give too much homework. Some parents say I give too little. Some parents love the way I do homework. Some parents dont. I get letters from one parent consistantly
that say "Johnny didnt do his homework because he had football practice"
Is this supposed to "excuse" Johnny from the homework? Is that the point of the letter? IF so then is the parent saying that I should excuse all children who have extraciricular activities after school from having to do their homework (which of course is ridiculous). By the way -- I give out the homework packet
on Friday and it's not due until the next Friday. I never know what to say to these parents. The other comment I got this year was the following
"Little Mikey is having trouble getting his homework completed because I am a single mom who works 60+ hours a week." OK - I understand this is hard but once again - Is she telling me this so I can then say "well then -- because you are a single mom Little Mikey doesnt have to complete his homework? Parents are strange indeed.
